In addition to lensing Emmy Award winning and Emmy nominated programs, Paul was a Monitor Award finalist for best regional commercial director and has been honored with numerous Telly Awards and several Vision Awards for his commercial directing efforts. Directorial credits include commercials for Foot Locker, Steve Madden Shoes, Ethan Allen Furniture, Innovation Luggage, Meadowlands Race Track, David Barton Gym, PSA’s for The Educational Fund to End Handgun Violence and MTV’s Free Your Mind antiracism campaign, as well as The New York Theatre Minute for NY1 News.
Paul was the DP on the AOL Kitchen Daily series, The Italian Kitchen, staring Marco Canora. Other corporate clients include Kate Spade, Macy’s, NFL Network, Whole Foods Market, Valentino, MAC Cosmetics, Cetaphil, Ebay, Joyus.com, Olympus, Sunglass Hut, Conde´ Nast Publications, Hearst Publications, BMW of North America, National Geographic, Con Edison, Fresh & Co., The Wexner Heritage Foundation, Sara Lee, Ricoh, AOL, Steaz, Bear Naked Granola, United Way, The Organic Trade Association, The Broadway Channel, Thomson/Reuters, The Hilton New York, The Helmsley Park Lane as well as New York’s Waldorf Astoria. He also produced, directed and DP'd several promotional campaigns for Mystery Science Theater 3000 Live Tour.
Paul was director of photography for John Landis’ Where Are They Now "documentary" for the Animal House: 25th Anniversary DVD. He was the director of photography for the PBS documentary Life on Jupiter: The Story of Jens Nygaard, which was awarded an Emmy for Arts Programming. Paul was director of photography and associate producer for the PBS Special Presentation Broadway Profiles: The Women of Broadway which he followed up with The Men of Broadway. He toured with Eminem as director/cameraman for the backstage documentary on the Anger Management Tour DVD and for footage used in the music video Sing for the Moment. For Atlantic Records, Paul was the cinematographer for the documentary James Blunt: Return to Kosovo (official selection SXSW Film Festival).
He was DP for the multi-camera Chris Aire Fashion Show which was the first time a jewelry designer had an exclusive runway show in the big tents at fashion week. The show featured over $300 million in diamonds.
Paul was the cinematographer for the independent feature/”mocumentary” Endsville, starring Jim Gaffigan, which won the "Golden Apple" at the Manhattan Global Film Festival. He was also the cinematographer for the feature length documentary BOUNCE: Behind the Velvet Rope, a film about the life of bouncers. It received the "Grand Prize" at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, was released theatrically and aired on Showtime. Mr. Dokuchitz was director of photography for Bravo Network’s, The Green Room, a behind the scenes look at the Broadway production of Arthur Miller’s play "Ride Down Mount Morgan" starring Patrick Stewart, as well as a documentary for IFC, Crossover, which examines the trend of musicians migrating to acting.
He was the cameraman on Lifetime Network's Healthy Start, a program on prenatal care, which was produced and directed by Rory Kennedy.
Other assignments include shooting and directing B-roll for Broadway musicals and plays, studio cameraman for the final season of The Phil Donahue Show as well as for the live cable network NewsTalk Television. Paul was on tour shooting for Mary J. Blige in South Africa and was director of photography for the digital feature Fishing, which was awarded “Best New Director” at the Rhode Island Intl. Film Festival and “Best Film” at the Great Lakes Film.
Paul Dokuchitz is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts: Undergraduate Film & TV, where he produced and directed the award winning short film Dead Serious.
